Powering More ComBricks Modules Than the Head Station Can
If the ComBricks backplane contains more inserted modules than the Head Station can power, you need to boost the power supply for the modules by inserting the 6A Power Module. If the need arises, you can insert more than one 6A Power Module in the backplane. Multiple power modules work in parallel and their currents are accumulative, with a maximum combined current of 12 A (i.e. the maximum backplane current load).
Redundant Power Supply
Power Modules can also be used as redundant power supply for the backplane. Power module diagnostics are available on the Head Station's web server.
Power modules do not need to be used if the Head Station's current available for the backplane (i.e. 2.5 A) is sufficient for all inserted modules.
Important Installation Notes
- When using the Power Module, disconnect power from the Head Station.
- If power redundancy is required, use two Power Modules.
- The maximum total current provided by all Power Modules is limited to 12 A, which is the maximum backplane current load.
- When moving the Power Module to a different backplane slot or removing it from the backplane, disconnect the power supply.

This page provides an overview of available modules and their status.
Detailed Information About the Power Module
When you click on the Power Module's link (the name in the module column), you will see detailed information about the module – for example, the power supplied to inserted modules. The page also shows if there has been a module overload or a power supply failure.
