Anybus Defender devices are industrial firewalls for segmenting and securing machines, production lines and other parts of OT networks. Depending on the model and variant, they can handle different numbers of network segments, resolve IP address conflicts, inspect industrial communication, provide VPN connectivity and offer advanced networking functions.

The number of ports does not equal the number of devices. It primarily determines how many physically separated network segments can be connected to the Defender. Additional logical segments can be created using VLANs on selected models.
For network segmentation, allowing only the required communication and resolving identical or conflicting IP addresses using NAT.
Everything in NAT/FW plus industrial communication inspection, IPS, protection of vulnerable devices and VPN.
