Diagnostics and troubleshooting of PROFIBUS networks

PROFIBUS network diagnostics are part of regular preventive maintenance of your machines

We will help you diagnose, locate and, if possible, fix faults on your PROFIBUS network, for example interference, voltage drops, faulty terminating resistors, communication faults and lost messages. Regular diagnostics will improve your network's stability and prevent unexpected failures.

We find and fix errors in PROFIBUS networks. 

What will you get?

Using all the values measured, we will create a detailed PDF report in Czech (or English, German or Spanish if requested) for you. The report will include:

• Information about the site measured (the name and description of the segment measured), plus general information about the network analysed
• LiveList – a list of all the stations taking part in communication on your network and their statuses
• Names of all the stations available on your network if you have the devices' GSD files
• Strength of the PROFIBUS signal on each available station
• Information about communication faults on your network
• Detailed graphs showing the PROFIBUS signal on all stations
• Assessment of your network and recommendations for improving its operability

We find errors in the PROFIBUS network. What to do?

If we can fix the errors found on site, we will do so. If this requires machine downtime, we will ask you to do so. If it requires a longer intervention, we will schedule a new visit where we will only focus on fixing the situation. 

Requirements for PROFIBUS network analysis

• It is ideal if someone from the plant (programmer, maintenance) is with us during the measurement to help us orient ourselves more quickly in the machine park, find switchboards, stop the machine on request, etc.
• It is also necessary to have a 230 V socket available, ideally at the location of the PLC cabinet.
• We must have at least one free programming PG port in each network segment for connecting the analyzer. The absence of this port makes it impossible to measure a given segment during line operation. We can manage, but the line will have to be stopped for a while.
• It is more suitable to measure the network during machine operation, when the quality of the network can be affected by electromagnetic interference from motors, inverters, power supplies, etc. If this is not possible, we can also measure the network out of operation, i.e. after working hours, during downtime or at the weekend.

The price for the Diagnostics of PROFIBUS includes:

• 1 day of PROFIBUS networks measurements in one company with a maximum of 7 hours on site,
• unlimited number of reports created (depending on the complexity of the PROFIBUS network),
• if we can fix the fault found, we will do so.
• Recommendations to improve the condition of your network.

Price does not include technician accommodation and travel. We will add the price to the offer according to the location of the diagnostic site.

Do you need to measure PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks?

No problem. We can measure both PROFIBUS and PROFINET on the same day of the measurement order, we will have both testers with us. You will only pay for one day of measuring PROFIBUS or PROFINET networks. Please specify in your order that you want to measure multiple networks in one day.

Very poor signal quality in the PROFIBUS network, which still works. In this state it may work for a day or even a year, nobody knows. We can detect this condition, propose a solution to improve the signal quality and implement this improvement. We will improve the quality of the PROFIBUS network and thus its robustness.
