Wireless Transmission of Digital and Analog I/O Signals

Wireless transmission of digital and analog I/O signals

Transmit inputs and outputs between two parts of a machine without installing a communication cable. DATAEAGLE wireless I/O modules are suitable for moving equipment, rotating machine parts and locations where a wired connection is difficult, costly or unreliable.

Digital and analog signals 0–10 V and 4–20 mA analog signals Range up to 70 metres IP67 industrial protection Factory-paired units

Where can wireless I/O transmission be used?

Moving machine parts Conveyors, cranes and mobile equipment

Signal transmission between fixed and moving parts without a mechanically stressed cable connection.

Rotating applications Rotary tables and rotating equipment

A wireless replacement for cables or slip rings used to transmit digital and analog signals.

Production modernisation Add I/O without a new cable route

Quick expansion of equipment where installing a new cable would be costly or operationally difficult.

Need to confirm whether wireless transmission is suitable?

Send us the number and type of signals, the distance between the units and a description of the application. We will help you select a suitable solution.

In detail: how wireless I/O transmission works and how to choose a solution

Cable replacement without changes to the PLC program

The system consists of two units paired with each other. A signal applied to the input of one unit is transmitted wirelessly to the corresponding output of the other unit. After connecting the power supply and I/O signals, the system can be ready to operate without complex configuration.

Digital inputs and outputs

Transmission of status and switching signals from sensors, limit switches, push buttons or actuators.

Analog inputs and outputs

Transmission of measured values and control signals using 0–10 V or 4–20 mA standards.

Demanding industrial environments

The IP67 version enables use directly at the machine and in applications with higher durability requirements.

DI / DO Digital signals
0–10 V Analog voltage
4–20 mA Analog current
Up to 70 m Wireless link range

Frequently asked questions about wireless I/O transmission

Do the units need to be programmed?

The units are factory-paired. After connecting the power supply and wiring the I/O signals correctly, no complex wireless-communication configuration is required.

Can both digital and analog values be transmitted?

Yes. The specific version is selected according to the required number of digital and analog inputs and outputs.

What information do you need for the design?

The number and type of transmitted signals, distance, unit locations, power supply, operating environment and a brief description of the movement or function of the equipment.
