Wireless CAN bus

SCHILDKNECHT DATAEAGLE 6000

Wireless CAN – replace the cable with a reliable radio link

Connect devices with a CAN interface without a data cable. DATAEAGLE 6000 transmits CAN communication transparently and is ideal for moving machines, AGVs, cranes, rotating machine parts and retrofit applications. It supports CANopen, J1939, DeviceNet and other CAN-based protocols.

Plug & Play without communication changes
Point-to-Point and Multipoint
CAN up to 1 Mbit/s
IP20 and IP65 versions
More about wireless CAN and DATAEAGLE 6000

How does wireless CAN work?

DATAEAGLE 6000 creates a radio connection between two or more sections of a CAN network. CAN devices are connected to the DATAEAGLE units, while the wireless link handles message transmission between the individual network segments.

The system is designed so that the existing CAN communication and PLC hardware configuration do not need to be changed.

Intelligent optimisation of CAN messages

DATAEAGLE separates the real-time CAN interface from the actual wireless transmission. CAN messages are processed before transmission and unnecessary or redundant data can be reduced.

This prevents unnecessary loading of the radio channel and helps maintain stable communication in demanding industrial applications.

CANopen, J1939, DeviceNet and more

DATAEAGLE 6000 is not limited to a single CAN protocol. It can be used with common industrial protocols as well as proprietary CAN-based communication.

  • CANopen
  • SAE J1939
  • DeviceNet
  • proprietary CAN protocols
  • CAN 2.0A – 11-bit identifier
  • CAN 2.0B – 29-bit identifier

Plug & Play – ideal for retrofit

Wireless CAN is also suitable for upgrading existing machines. Preconfigured units can be connected to an existing CAN network, allowing problematic cabling to be replaced without extensive changes to the machine control system.

Moving data cables are eliminated, reducing mechanical wear and related maintenance requirements.

Point-to-Point

Replace a single CAN cable

The simplest solution for connecting two sections of a CAN network. Ideal for moving or rotating machine parts where a cable is inconvenient or subject to mechanical wear.

Multipoint

Multiple remote CAN devices

One central radio unit can communicate with several remote parts of the system. Suitable for larger machines, mobile equipment and distributed technologies.

Up to 1 Mbit/s CAN communication speed
Point-to-Point wireless cable replacement
Multipoint multiple remote devices
IP20 / IP65 control cabinet or field installation

Where is wireless CAN used?

AGVs and mobile machines
cranes and lifting equipment
rotary and carousel machines
agricultural and construction machinery
vehicles and trailers
remote technology units
