OPC Router license transfer without FOXON technical support

Version 5.1 allows the OPC Router license to be moved to another device without technical support. You can thus use your license on another device, and then only deactivate the license on the original device. This can be useful:

• When replacing the computer on which the OPC Router is running,
• when this computer fails,
• moving the licensed software to another plant within the company.

You will be informed that your license is being used on another computer, and only if this condition persists for a longer period of time will you be contacted by technical support.

Is OPC Router 5.x a full replacement for OPC Router 4?
Yes, but only from version 5.1.

Can I have version 4 and 5.x on the same computer?
Yes, it is possible to run both versions pn one computer.

What about licenses?
The license works for both version 4 and version 5.x. Those with valid support can upgrade to a newer version seamlessly.

How about moving to version 5.x?
Projects from version 4 can be opened without any problem in version 5. The current version 5 does not include all plug-ins from version 4. Version 5.1 will already include them. 
It is always a good idea to test the upgrade on the test server to identify and fix any problems.
