Shaped cutouts preserve access to the controls and USB. The 6-axis mouse remains functional. An integrated retaining flap helps prevent loss of the stylus.

The bumper reduces the risk of mechanical damage. It does not guarantee that the pendant will survive every drop without damage.

The teach pendant, separate hand strap and stylus are not included. The hand-hold caps are optional during installation and help prevent the protected pendant from sliding across a dry surface.

Fitting the bumper and using it in operation

Fitting instructions for the KUKA KR C1 / KR C2 smartPAD bumper

Before fitting, power down the controller and press the emergency stop button. The cable does not need to be disconnected. If you use the hand-hold caps, attach them with the supplied adhesive as described below.

Follow the instructions and your workplace's service procedures. After fitting, check access to the controls and safety devices.

Fitting instructions for the KUKA KR C1 / KR C2 smartPAD bumper

  1. Power down the controller and press the emergency stop button.

  2. Place the bumper face up on a clean, dry surface.

  3. Insert the pendant’s top right corner into the bumper. Seat the bumper around the protective rim of the emergency stop button.

  4. Pull the bumper over the 6-axis mouse and seat the right edge.

  5. Pull the bumper over the top and left edges of the pendant.

  6. Wrap the bumper around the cable.

  7. First dry-fit the hand-hold cap near the 6-axis mouse. Its notch accommodates the green Start button. If using the cap, apply a thin continuous bead of adhesive around its inside circumference, fit it to the hand-hold and hold for 45 seconds.

  8. Dry-fit the right cap in the same way. If using it, apply a thin continuous bead of adhesive around its inside circumference, fit it and hold for 45 seconds.

  9. Power up the controller and release the emergency stop button. Installation is complete.

Is the teach pendant included?

No. The package contains the bumper, two hand-hold caps and 1 ml of cyanoacrylate adhesive. The pendant, separate hand strap and stylus are not included.

Is the KUKA brand name enough to choose a bumper?

No. The exact pendant model and full part number matter. The KRC1-PA bumper is designed for KUKA KR C1 / KR C2 smartPAD. Compare your pendant’s identification with the listed compatibility.

Does the bumper also protect the screen surface?

To protect the screen surface against scratches, we recommend separate screen protection for KUKA KR C1 / KR C2 smartPAD. The protective frame and screen protection serve different purposes.

Do I need to disconnect the cable to fit the bumper?

No. The KRC1-PA bumper can be fitted and removed without disconnecting the pendant cable. Power down the controller before fitting and follow the instructions.
