The bumper reduces the risk of mechanical damage. It does not guarantee that the pendant will survive every drop without damage.

Fitting the bumper and using it in operation

Procedure for ABB IRC5

Fitting this bumper requires powering down the controller and disconnecting the cable at the controller end. Do not disconnect the cable directly from the pendant. The adapter is fitted to the original cradle.

Follow the instructions and your workplace's service procedures. After fitting, check access to the controls and safety devices.

Is the teach pendant included?

No. The package contains the protective bumper and an adapter for the original cradle. The pendant, separate hand strap and stylus are not included.

Is the ABB brand name enough to choose a bumper?

No. The exact pendant model matters. This bumper is designed for ABB IRC5 DSQC 679 with part number 3HAC028357-001.

Does the bumper also protect the screen surface?

To protect the screen surface against scratches, we recommend a separate screen protector for ABB IRC5. The protective frame and screen protector serve different purposes.

Can the pendant with the bumper be placed in the original cradle?

An adapter for the original cradle is included for this purpose. Its installation is covered in the fitting instructions.

How can I request bumpers for several pendants or delivery abroad?
