Fitting the bumper and using it in operation
Fitting instructions for OmniCore DSQC 3060
The procedure below is for DSQC 3060. Before fitting, power down the controller and disconnect the cable at the controller end, not from the pendant. For DSQC 3120 and DSQC 3124, first check the procedure and cradle version.
Follow the instructions and your workplace's service procedures. After fitting, check access to the controls and safety devices.
Fitting instructions for OmniCore DSQC 3060
Power down the controller and disconnect the cable at the controller end. Do not disconnect it from the FlexPendant.
Open the protective guards at their seams and fit them over the wire hoops around the joystick.
Turn the pendant over and unthread the Velcro hand strap on one side.
Place the bumper face up on the work surface and the pendant on it. Pass the cable through the opening at the base of the raised emergency stop rim.
Seat the pendant in the bumper while pulling the cable through. Pass the hand strap through the rear of the bumper.
Turn the assembly over, pass the remaining strap end through its cutout and secure the Velcro. Fit the remaining bumper edges.
If local safety requirements call for direct, unobstructed access to the emergency stop, cut away the rubber rim accordingly. Molded cut lines mark the rim; Santoprene™ can be cut with a utility knife.
Separate the cradle halves with a Phillips screwdriver. Keep the 4 screws.
Transfer the adhesive-backed plate and screws from the original cradle’s front upper section to the front upper section of the Pendant Armor adapter.
Attach the adapter’s front upper section to the original cradle base with its 4 screws.
Centre the protected pendant in the modified cradle’s lower lip. Tilt its top backwards until the upper lip slides over the protected pendant.
Reconnect the cable to the controller, release the emergency stop and power up the controller. Installation is complete.

Material resistance depends on the specific substance and operating conditions. Check Santoprene™ chemical compatibility for oils, coolants or cleaning agents.

Is the teach pendant included?
No. The package contains the bumper, joystick guards and one adapter for the original cradle. The pendant and separate hand strap are not included.
Is the ABB brand name enough to choose a bumper?
No. The exact pendant model and full part number matter. The OMNI-PA bumper is designed for ABB OmniCore FlexPendant. Compare your pendant’s identification with the listed compatibility.
Does the bumper also protect the screen surface?
To protect the screen surface against scratches, we recommend separate screen protection for ABB OmniCore FlexPendant. The protective frame and screen protection serve different purposes.
Can the pendant with the bumper be placed in the original cradle?
An adapter for the original cradle is included. For DSQC 3060, the cradle conversion uses its original parts and 4 screws as described in the instructions. For DSQC 3120 and DSQC 3124, first check the specific cradle version.
