Diagnostics and troubleshooting of PROFINET Networks

A seemingly working PROFINET network does not mean that the network is fine

What do you get by measuring?

From all measured networks we create a detailed PDF report in Czech (and on request also in English), which includes:

• information about the measurement site (name + description of the measured section),
• a list of all available stations in the network with their description,
• statistics for all measured stations (data packets, firwmare, uptime, communication cycles, settings and much more),
• network topology
• list and meaning of alarms (if any in the network)
• packet level communication log with a description of any unwanted conditions found,

PROFINET network analysis requirements

• It is ideal if someone from the plant (programmer, maintenance) is with us during the measurement to help us orient ourselves more quickly in the machine park, find switchboards, stop the machine on request, etc.
• It is also necessary to have a 230 V socket available, ideally at the location of the PLC cabinet.
• We need one free PROFINET port somewhere in the PROFINET network, for an active test with our analyzer. This port is preferable in a location as close to the PLC as possible, but it is not a requirement. For the passive test we need to connect a pass-through measurement data TAP adapter between the PLC and the rest of the PROFINET network. This connection is often solved via already installed measuring points. If the measuring points are not available in the network, we will need to disconnect the PROFINET network and connect our TAP adapter there. Connecting the TAP adapter requires a line stop.
• It is preferable to make network measurements while the machine is running, when the quality of the network can be affected by electromagnetic interference from motors, inverters, power supplies, etc. If this is not possible, we will also measure the network out of operation, i.e. after working hours, during downtime or at the weekend. 

The measurement price includes

• • 1 day of PROFINETS network measurements at one company address for a maximum of 7 hours on site,
  • unlimited number of reports created (depending on the complexity of the PROFINET network),
  • if we can fix the fault found, we will do so.
  • Recommendations to improve the condition of your network.

Price does not include technician accommodation and travel. We will add the price to the offer according to the location of the diagnostic site.

Do you need to measure PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks?

No problem. We can measure both PROFIBUS and PROFINET on the same day of the measurement order, we will have both testers with us. You will only pay for one day of measuring PROFIBUS or PROFINET networks. Please specify in your order that you want to measure multiple networks in one day.
