EWON Flexy 205 - FOXON PLUS
Ewon Flexy 205 combines secure remote access to machinery with data collection from PLCs and industrial devices. It enables remote programming of PLCs and HMIs, monitoring of alarms, storage of historical data and its transfer to OPC UA, visualisation systems, MES, ERP or cloud applications.
What data do you need to read from the PLC and where should it be sent?
We will examine the PLC type, data points, alarms, archiving, the method of connecting to the internet and the target system, and propose a suitable configuration for the Ewon Flexy 205.

More about the features, communication and use of the Ewon Flexy 205
Remote access and data acquisition in a single device
The Ewon Flexy 205 is suitable for applications where remote machine programming alone is not sufficient. The router can read data from PLCs and other devices, store it, evaluate alarms and forward information to higher-level systems.
Secure programming and diagnostics of PLCs, HMI panels, robots and industrial computers without a public IP address or your own VPN server.
Flexy communicates directly with supported PLCs and can read and write values without the need for major modifications to the control system programme.
Archiving of process values, alarm logging and sending of alerts in the event of a fault or when a set limit is exceeded.
Data transfer to OPC UA, visualisation systems, SCADA, MES, ERP, Power BI or cloud applications.
If the connection is interrupted, data can be stored locally and sent back to the target system once communication is restored.
The router can be fitted with a communication card for Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, serial interfaces or digital and analogue I/O.
Supported PLCs and communication protocols
SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300 and S7-400
Communication with Rockwell Automation PLCs
Reading and writing values from supported PLCs
Communication with PLCs and industrial devices
Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU
OPC UA Client and OPC UA Server
Communication with supported BACnet devices
Reading data from network and other SNMP devices
Advanced data processing and transmission
Typical uses of the Ewon Flexy 205
Programming, diagnostics and support for machines installed at customer sites both domestically and abroad.
Monitoring of operational statuses, alarms, counters, consumption and other technical values.

Then choose a simple, reliable and secure connection with encrypted communication to all your routers, just like machine manufacturer LUX.

How to Meet NIS2 Requirements: Secure Remote Access with Ewon Routers and W&T Firewalls
The European NIS2 directive introduces new obligations for companies in protecting against cyber threats. Below, we compare these requirements with the technical measures in IEC 62443 and show how to meet them easily using Ewon industrial routers, the secure Talk2M cloud service, and firewalls from the German manufacturer W&T.

Ewon in Action: ŽĎAS Demonstrates Intelligent Use of Industrial Routers
The most frequent users of Ewon industrial routers are machine and equipment manufacturers. The remote access capability of these routers enables them to communicate with the control systems of the machines they manufacture and sell, even if they are on the other side of the world. In addition, Ewon Flexy makes it possible to collect data from machines and make it available to customers via visualisation. One of the companines that cleverly use all the benefits of these routers is the leading Czech engineering company ŽĎAS.

VIDEO guide to remote management of PLCs/HMIs/PCs via Ewon routers
Ewon industrial routers are rightly among the most widely used global solutions for the remote management of PLC control systems, robots, industrial computers and HMI panels via the Internet. Simply managing systems remotely is no longer enough, and Ewon routers are the only ones that can offer you so much more. They can read (and write) data from remote PLC control systems such as SIEMENS, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Modbus and others. This data is sent via the Internet to your computer, where you can store it in a database and display it in visualisations or in Power BI reports. Find out more in our video guide.
