This device allows for wireless transmission of digital and analogue inputs and outputs. As it is not based on any particular control system, it can also be used separately, for example as a substitute for a cable connection between a button and a control box on a moving machine part. Easy Installation

As both the master and the slave are already paired up, the DATAEAGLE X-treme IO 2730 offers very easy installation. You do not need to configure anything. Simply connect inputs and outputs using M12 connectors (Connector Type: 5 pin, male, CANopen, DeviceNet; Part No: 22260135) and 24 VDC supply voltage using the 5-pin female M12 connector (Connector Type: 5 pin, female, CANopen, DeviceNet; Part No: 22260136). Industry-Ready

Thanks to the high IP seal rating, the DATAEAGLE X-treme IO 2730 can be installed directly on a machine in a dusty and humid environment. The units' omnidirectional antennas are inside the units, which ensures high ruggedness of the whole solution. Signals are transmitted via 2.4 GHz Bluetooth. This technology is much more resistant to interference than WiFi. Nevertheless, if signals are transmitted over a long distance, both the units need to be arranged correctly (i.e. they need to be placed in the correct position). We have successfully tested transmission with both the units correctly arranged over a distance of 50 m. With shorter distances, the physical arrangement of units is not important.

Examples of Unit Setup

Each unit is labelled with Master or Slave and its specifications can be found on the packaging as well as on the module itself. Except for the 8DI ←→ 8DO model, inputs get connected to ports 5–8 and outputs to ports 1–4. Ports of the Master and the Slave are thus interconnected in the following way – 5–1, 6–2, 7–3 and 8–4 (the positions of the Master and the Slave with respect to their physical arrangement can be interchanged without any negative effect).

As regards the 8DI ←→ 8DO model, one of the modules provides for inputs only, while the other for outputs only. Ports of the Master and the Slave are interconnected in the following way – 1–1, 2–2, 3–3 and so on. If you need to switch the order of inputs and outputs (i.e. outputs ←→ inputs), simply switch the positions of the Master and the Slave.
