Data collection, databases and custom applications
- Motherbox retrieves values by periodically querying the connected Web-IO devices and stores them in a shared database. SQL interfaces and automatic export via FTP are available for processing.
- Site Creator enables you to create web-based visualisation and control pages using a drag-and-drop method. The internal web server supports HTTPS and PHP.
- MySQL/MariaDB, SQLite, C/C++ programmes and PHP scripts triggered by time, events or at start-up are available for custom applications. 750 MB is specified for application data.
- Backup capacitors enable a controlled shutdown when the power supply is disconnected. Software and system versions are verified against the specific device firmware.
Commissioning and accessories
Connect the Motherbox to the network and a suitable power supply. Set the IP address, locate the connected Web-IO devices and create measurement profiles. To view an overview or visualise the data, select the required values and configure how the data is to be stored and exported.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I connect the sensor directly to the Motherbox?
The Motherbox collects data via Ethernet from compatible Web-IO devices. The sensors themselves are connected to the corresponding measurement modules.
Can I use my own web application?
Yes. The internal web server supports custom pages and PHP; the platform also allows custom C/C++ programmes subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Is the entire flash memory available for measured data?
No. Part of the capacity is used by the system and software. The manufacturer specifies 750 MB for application data.
