Dropping a teach pendant does not have to mean a repair or replacement. The flexible bumper absorbs impact and helps prevent mechanical damage. The savings extend beyond the pendant itself to the time spent replacing it and the losses caused by interrupted production.

The bumper absorbs impact energy and reduces the risk of mechanical damage. If it protects the pendant, the repair costs following a drop are avoided.

The pronounced surface texture improves grip. Perforations reduce weight and allow liquids to drain away.
Access to controls
Protective ridges around the rotary switches and emergency stop button do not obstruct their operation. The rear enabling switches remain accessible.
The bumper reduces the risk of mechanical damage. It does not guarantee that the pendant will survive every drop without damage.

Fitting the bumper and using it in operation
Fitting instructions for the FANUC A05B-2301 / A05B-2308 / A05B-2518 iPendant bumper
Before fitting, power down the controller and disconnect the cable at the pendant. Release the original Velcro hand strap only from its upper attachment; leave the lower attachment on the pendant.
Follow the instructions and your workplace's service procedures. After fitting, check access to the controls and safety devices.
Fitting instructions for the FANUC A05B-2301 / A05B-2308 / A05B-2518 iPendant bumper
Power down the controller and disconnect the cable at the pendant.
Release the original Velcro hand strap only from its upper attachment.
Place the bumper face up on a clean, dry surface.
Pass the hand strap through the cut-out in the lower left corner of the bumper.
Insert the pendant into the lower left corner of the bumper. Check that the lower hand-strap attachment and cable connections are fully seated in the bumper.
Pull the bumper across the bottom of the pendant, then along its sides and over the handle at the top.
Refit the original Velcro hand strap to the pendant with the bumper installed.
If local safety requirements require direct, unobstructed access to the emergency stop button, trim the protective rubber brow to meet those requirements. A cutting line is molded around the brow; a utility knife can be used to cut Santoprene™.
Reconnect the controller cable.
Power up the controller.
Installation is complete.
